Wander&Wonder is an independent publication launched in January 2024 by Pieter Goossens. Whenever I see, read, hear or otherwise experience something that I find inspiring or useful I share it.

Given my personal interest and professional activities, most of those insights will be around cars and mobility. But I don't want to be tied down by any one subject so forgive me when I deviate. Or just unsubscribe 😉.

Wander and Wonder? What is that about?

Wandering is different from purposefully moving in a certain direction. It's the opposite, you move about without a clear purpose or direction. But that is exactly the point: stop hustling towards that next goal on your to-do list and take the time to discover. Find the treats in today's news that indicate where the world will be heading in the day after tomorrow.

Wondering expresses curiosity. Feeling surprise and admiration by seeing or experiencing something strange and new. In our dynamic and sometimes chaotic world, the daily news is of full of events and facts that bring great wonder. I dread the day I lose that feeling, so I try to keep feeding it. And I like sharing!

Why not just use LinkedIn?

LinkedIn and other social media are very difficult to separate from my daily professional activities. I have been lucky to find a job that sits very close to my interests and passions, but that also means I have to careful about how and what I communicate on the world wide web. This newsletter is my little baby, where I can freely express my opinions without risking them being seen as somehow reflecting the strategies or plans of my employer.

Why a small subscription fee?

Keeping things behind a paywall keeps the platform and my newspaper subscriptions paid for and the readers honest. Because we all know that when something is free you are the product. I don't want to feel pressure to build an audience, get referrals or sponsorships.
